Description
The Trane HTR15180 Crankcase Heater is an electrical heating component designed to maintain proper temperature in the compressor crankcase of refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The heater generates 90 watts of heat when powered by a 200-volt power supply and is used to warm the compressor oil reservoir, which minimizes the movement of refrigerant and the oil viscosity in HVAC systems remains constant. The heater will be connected to the compressor housing and connected to the system power circuit by lead wires. It is located in the area of compressor crankcase and offers low-level heating all the time, which helps to protect the compressor during the system shutdown or low-temperature.
