Description
The Heatcraft Refrigeration 22509940 Compressor Start Relay is a component that connects the start winding of a single-phase compressor motor during the initial power-up sequence, and delivers the additional torque required to accelerate the compressor from a stationary position to the full operating the speed in HVAC systems. A current-sensitive coil reacts to the high inrush current drawn at startup by the closing the relay contact, bringing the start winding into the circuit momentarily before releasing once the motor reaches running speed. It plugs directly into the terminal pins without needing supplementary wiring or mounting component.
