Description
The Lennox 99K27 Bimetallic Thermal Overload Protector is a protective control that monitors heat generated by excessive electrical current in three-phase circuits. Its bimetallic element respond to rising temperature by changing shape and opening the electrical path when the preset thermal condition is reached. After the overload condition subsides and the element cools, the protector can return to its normal contact position according to the control design. It interrupts power when excessive current produces abnormal thermal energy in HVAC systems. This action safeguards motors and related electrical sections from thermal load caused by sustained overload conditions.
