Description
The Trane CPT02326 Round Start Capacitor with Resistor, 112 MFD, 330V, supplies an initial current better to the compressor motor in conventional HVAC systems, including central air conditioners and heat pumps. It does this by storing and releasing electrical energy across its terminals, creating a phase shift that supports the motor beginning under load. The unit is mounted within the air handler electrical compartment, connected between the start winding and the relay or contactor. Over time it supports compressor stalls, reduces strain on the motor and contributes to more consistent cooling.
