The York S1-025-52080-000 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a metering unit that regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator, maintaining proper superheat and system balance within HVAC systems. With a 97.6 PSIG rating and CHAT X CHAT configuration, it responds to temperature and pressure changes through a sensing bulb and internal diaphragm that adjust the valve opening accordingly. This allows the correct amount of refrigerant to enter the coil based on load conditions. Positioned along the liquid line near the evaporator in air conditioning units, it is connected to the refrigerant piping and secured during setup.
