The Trane SEN01609 Flow Sensor is used to measure fluid or air flow by measuring flow velocity to provide accurate operation in chiller, and air-handling HVAC systems and is calibrated to detect flow rates of 25 cm per second, which is the appropriate flow rate to offer accurate performance. It works by having a sensing element that identifies the movement in the medium and transmits signals to the control system. It is installed in the pipe or airflow path and connected to the control circuit to continuously monitor.
