The Trane SEN01729 Temperature Sensor Assembly is a thermistor-based sensing unit with a resistance value of 9.75K ohms at 75F, used to feed real-time temperature readings to a compatible control board that adjusts system operation based on measured conditions. As ambient or fluid temperature shifts, the thermistor resistance changes proportionally, and the control board interprets that change to modulate outputs such as fan speed, valve position, or stage sequencing. Within HVAC systems, return air plenums, or refrigerant lines, give the controller accurate thermal data to maintain setpoint conditions and respond to load changes across the operating range.
