The Trane SLG0123 is a Slinger, manufactured to be compatible with Trane HVAC systems. A slinger is a fan blade component that is mounted on a shaft, in this case, 5/8” diameter shaft. This particular slinger is circular, 7” in diameter and 1.58” tall, meaning that it can be installed in tight areas within the HVAC unit. Slingers have the essentialfunction of directing airflow over the motor or compressor in HVAC systems. This airflow is useful in cooling of these sensitive parts, which are easily damaged by heat if not well cooled.
