Description
The Copeland Comfort Control (Alco) 054967 Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigeration control component used to regulate refrigerant flow into evaporator coils. It maintains proper superheat by adjusting flow based on sensing bulb feedback through a 5′ capillary system. It is applied in HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment, where controlled refrigerant metering is required for stable cooling operation. Installed in the liquid line near the evaporator inlet, it manages pressure and temperature balance across the system circuit. The valve is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial cooling equipment for consistent thermal regulation.
