Description
The Amana-Goodman 4P389796-2S Thermistor Assembly reads temperature conditions at a designated sensing location and converts thermal changes into variable resistance signals that the control board interprets to regulate staging, defrost cycles, and operational boundaries. A negative thermal coefficient element decreases resistance as heat rises, transmitting a continuous analog signal that reflects thermic conditions to the board input terminal. It mounts at the established sensing point within heat pump HVAC systems. Once wired, it delivers accurate, repeatable resistance output, giving the board precise thermal data needed to execute each control decision at the correct temperature limit.
