The Rheem-Ruud AP16678 Rope Water Leak Sensor identifies moisture along its full 2-foot non-conductive polymer rope length, registering contact at any point and signaling the connected controller to trigger a shutdown or alert before water reaches flooring, cabinetry, or adjacent equipment. Unlike point-effective measurements that only catch pooling at a single spot, the rope format wraps around drain pans, pipe bases, or floor perimeters of water heaters and HVAC systems, covering irregular surfaces with fixed points. Three plastic clips secure the rope in position without adhesives or tools, keeping the sensing surface consistently in contact with the area at risk.
