Description
The Trane CTR02184 1-Pole Contactor is an electrical switching component used in HVAC systems such as air conditioners, heat pumps, and condenser units to manage power flow to high-load parts like compressors and outdoor fan motors. In systems used for residential and commercial cooling equipment, it operates through a 24V coil signal that activates internal contacts, allowing up to 50A of line voltage to pass to connected components during cooling demand cycles. It is mounted inside the outdoor control compartment and wired between the power supply and load circuits by opening and closing the power path based on control signals.
