Description
The Trane CTR03023 3-Pole Contactor rated at 40A with a 24V control coil, used to switch electrical power to major loads such as compressors, condenser fan motors, and other high-voltage components in air conditioning and heat pump in HVAC systems. It is installed inside the outdoor condensing unit or control panel, where it operates as an electrically controlled switch that opens and closes power circuits based on low-voltage signals from the thermostat or control board. As part of the electrical distribution unit, it interfaces between the control circuit and line-voltage equipment to manage operational cycling of key mechanical parts during heating and cooling operations.
