Description
The Trane SEN03167 Straight Flame Sensor L8V detects active combustion within the burner assembly by measuring the microamp-level ionization current that flows through the flame envelope when the burner fires, transmitting a continuous signal to the control board that confirms flame presence throughout each heating cycle. A straight rod electrode positioned at the burner flame zone completes the sensing circuit during combustion in HVAC systems, with the current level indicating whether the flame is stable, weak, or absent at the point of detection. It connects to the control board through a high-temperature lead without additional wiring.
