Description
The Trane SWT3544 High Pressure Switch is a refrigerant control component used to protect compressors from excessive discharge pressure conditions during operation in HVAC systems. It is installed on the high-pressure side of the circuit where it continuously monitors system head pressure. It operates with 650 PSI open and 500 PSI closed setting, meaning it interrupts the control circuit when pressure rises above the safety threshold and restores operation once pressure drops back to the recovery level. This controlled cycling prevents compressor damage, supports safe pressure regulation and maintain stable performance in residential and light commercial cooling equipment.
