Description
The Trane SWT3892 Low Pressure Switch is a safety part designed to protect HVAC systems from operating at low refrigerant pressures. That function works by closing an electrical circuit and shutting the system off when the refrigerant pressure dips below 35 PSI to protect the system from damage. When the pressure gets back up above 55 PSI, the switch closes and the system goes back to work. Commonly used in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment, such as chillers, rooftop units and split systems. Its primary advantage is to protect the compressor and such other vital parts from damage due to low refrigerant levels or refrigerant leaks. The switch prevents operation under low pressure conditions, improving system reliability and life.
