The Trane VAL04223 3-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve 3/8 is a part that is used to control the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil. It is fitted in air conditioning or heat pump systems to regulate the supply of refrigerant depending on the coil temperature and load requirements. It keeps the right amount of superheat, coil flooding is prevented, and heat transfer is maximized.
