Description
The Trane VAL08608 2-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) R22 48/44 PSIG is a refrigerant metering part that regulates the amount of liquid refrigerant supplied to the evaporator according to cooling demand. It is installed in the liquid refrigerant line ahead of the evaporator coil to support accurate refrigerant distribution. The temperature-sensing element respond to changes at the evaporator outlet and automatically adjusting the valve opening to maintain the proper refrigerant flow throughout the cooling cycle in HVAC systems. Controlled refrigerant delivery stabilizes evaporator pressure, improves heat transfer efficiency and protects connected refrigeration components from improper refrigerant flow.
