Description
The Trane VAL08613 Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) control liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator by adjusting its internal opening according to temperature conditions at the coil outlet. The sensing element respond to these changes, and controls the valve position, regulating the refrigerant feed required for heat absorption. Rated for 5-ton applications and specified for R-22 the valve separates the high-side liquid line from the low-side evaporator section. Installed within HVAC systems at this transition point it works with the evaporator to control refrigerant delivery through the cooling circuit. This arrangement keeps the refrigerant feed responsive as operating conditions change.
