Description
The Trane VAL09597 Thermal Expansion Valve is a metering assembly that controls refrigerant entry into an evaporator coil. An internal sensing mechanism responds to outlet conditions and adjusts the valve opening, regulating the amount delivered to the coil. The 3/8-inch ODF inlet and 1-inch ODF outlet provide connection points for the corresponding tubing in the refrigeration circuit in HVAC systems. In air conditioning applications, the valve is upstream of the evaporator and manages refrigerant distribution across the heat-transfer surface. Its 6-ton rating indicates the capacity range for which the valve is specified, allowing the circuit to receive an appropriately controlled refrigerant supply.
