The Trane VAL19599 Thermal Expansion Valve for refrigerant control in HVAC systems with 8-ton cooling capacity. TXVs control the amount of refrigerant that enters the evaporator coil to provide the best cooling efficiency. This kind of valve functions based on the temperature and pressure of the refrigerant that is leaving the evaporator. If the refrigerant is warm this means it is not adequately cooled, the valve is then set to allow a larger amount of refrigerant through. This dynamic adjustment makes the operation most efficient and at the same time, it does not allow liquid refrigerant which is dangerous to the compressor, to get into the compressor.
