Description
The Watts F275054 Pressure Relief Valve is used to relieve excess pressure in HVAC systems, to prevent an overpressure condition from occurring in the piping and equipment. It is constructed with a 1″ connection, and a 0-50 PSI adjustable range. Model 174A is used and is activated by a spring-loaded mechanism that opens when pressure exceeds the set point, allowing fluid to discharge and thereby relieving the system. This action will keep the system at safe operating levels when in use. It is typically mounted on pressure lines or tank connections and is threaded into the pipe during installation.
