The Maxitrol R210J10-1022 Red Spring controls the outlet pressure range for compatible 210J-series gas pressure regulators. Installed inside the regulator housing of gas-fired HVAC system equipment, the color-coded red spring exerts downward force against the internal diaphragm. Adjusting spring tension alters the resistance on the valve mechanism to regulate downstream gas pressure between 10 and 22 inches of water column. Controlling manifold pressure maintains precise gas delivery to burners, supporting stable flame features and consistent heat output across varying inlet pressures.
