Description
The Trane VAL8788 5-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigerant metering part used in air conditioning and heat pump systems to control the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil. It automatically regulates based on system load conditions, maintaining proper superheat for stable cooling performance and efficient heat transfer. This is installed in 5-ton capacity systems with 5/16″ x 1/2” ODF connections. It supports operation by balancing refrigerant flow, protecting the compressor from liquid return, and ensuring consistent performance in varying cooling conditions in the HVAC systems.
