Description
The Carrier P540-4254 Universal Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigerant metering component used to control the flow of R410A into the evaporator coil based on temperature and pressure conditions. It adjusts refrigerant supply according to system load, ensuring proper phase change and stable operation of the cooling circuit. The unit is designed for 2.5 to 4 ton capacity applications in air conditioning and heat pump equipment. Within HVAC systems it is fitted in the liquid line upstream of the evaporator, supporting balanced superheat control, consistent coil performance, and regulated refrigerant distribution across the refrigeration cycle.
