The Trane VAL09761 Ball Valve BVS 058 features a 5/8-inch ODF connection, controlling refrigerant flow through a quarter-turn operation that fully opens or closes the internal bore with minimal pressure drop. A stainless steel ball within the housing rotates to align or block the flow path, providing positive shutoff without excessive handle torque. The valve brazes onto the refrigerant line through ODF fittings, creating a leak-resistant joint for high-pressure circuit isolation. Refrigerant line sets within HVAC systems use this valve to isolate specific sections during servicing to recover or recharge without interrupting the entire circuit.
