Description
The Rheem-Ruud 61-106093-13 Thermal Expansion Valve (TXV) is a refrigerant metering part that regulates the amount of liquid refrigerant entering the evaporator to match changing cooling demands. The valve is connected between the liquid line and evaporator inlet as part of the refrigerant circuit. A temperature-sensitive sensing element continuously adjust the unit opening in response to evaporator conditions and maintaining proper refrigerant flow, stable superheat throughout the refrigeration cycle in HVAC systems. It protects the compressor from liquid refrigerant return and contributes to consistent cooling operation across varying load conditions.
