The Bradford White 415-47782-07 Hex Head Magnesium Anode Rod 3/4″ NPT is a corrosion control component designed in storage water heaters to protect the internal tank from chemical degradation. It is threaded into the tank and slowly sacrifices itself as it reacts with water impurities, reducing corrosion on the steel lining. In HVAC systems related hot water systems, it is commonly installed in commercial heaters maintain water condition stability. The rod is periodically inspected and replaced during maintenance to ensure continued protection of the heaters internal components.
