Description
The Trane VAL18925 is a thermal expansion valve for large commercial HVAC systems, using R22 refrigerant. This valve is considered essentialin controlling refrigerant flow in the system. The TXV precisely controls the refrigerant amount entering the evaporator coil so that it maximizes heat transfer and maximizes cooling performance. The thermal sensing bulb is located on the evaporator outlet of the TXV. The further the refrigerant cools, and pulls heat into itself, the lower the temperature in the bulb. The TXV restricts refrigerant flow sufficiently to maintain a stable system pressure and prevent over cooling. Specifically an ODF type TXV, the Trane VAL18925 has inlet and outlet connection sizes of 7/8″ and 1-1/8″ respectively.
