The Trane HTR1780 9.6Kw 240V Heat Strip is an electric heating element for supplemental or emergency heat for your HVAC system. The heat strip is usually installed inside an air handler unit, which is a part of your forced air heating system. The heat strip is activated, and the air that passes through the air handler gets heated and then sent out to your home through your ductwork. Extra heat from heat strips can be put in if your main heating system can’t keep you warm during periods of peak demand or not enough. Heat strips can provide temporary heat if your primary heating system fails and the system can be repaired.
