Description
The Amana-Goodman 0130M00851 Contactor is a definite-purpose electromechanical switching component that connects and interrupts line voltage to the compressor and condenser fan motor in split-system condensing units and heat pumps within HVAC systems. When the thermostat sends a signal to the contactor coil the resulting magnetic field pulls the plunger down closing the load-side contacts and allowing line voltage to pass through to the compressor terminals and fan motor. This spring-loaded plunger retracts and the contacts open, cutting power to both loads simultaneously.
