Description
The Carrier EA02DZ454 is a Thermal Expansion Valve, an essential part of the HVAC systems, which works with R-22 or R407C refrigerant. This palm-sized unit controls coolant flow within the system to provide the most efficient cooling. The TXV uses a bi-metallic strip that flexes when exposed to a change in temperature, either expanding or contracting. This expansion and contraction control the amount of refrigerant flow allowed to the evaporator coil to not overfeed the system and cause damage. That is, it becomes equivalent to an intelligent control valve that will only release refrigerant according to the cooling needs of the system.
