The Rheem 47-25349-05 Auto Limit Switch is used to support control the heat levels within a certain temperature range in HVAC systems. It works by monitoring the heat exchanger’s temperature and opening the circuit to turn off the heating element if the temperature is above 200°F. The temperature down to 180°F or less, the switch resets and circuit closes, bringing heat back on. This cycling process stops the system from overheating and protects it from heat damage. With the switch controlling temperature, the system runs better, doesn’t lock out, and the heating equipment lasts longevity.
