Description
The International Comfort Products 1010712 Door Interlock Switch interrupts power to the unit when the access panel is opened, cutting electrical supply to internal components before contact with live circuits becomes a possibility during servicing. Its plunger mechanism depresses when the panel closes, restoring the circuit and allowing in the normal operation to resume once the door is fully secured in position. Air handlers and furnaces in HVAC systems occupy this switch at the access panel frame to enforce electrical safety during filter changes and component inspection, which prevents fail-safe interruption for hot surface exposure.
