Description
The Rheem-Ruud 42-109499-17K Contactor W/Auxiliary Contact is a magnetic switching assembly that starts or stops electrical loads through a low-voltage control command. Energizing its coil causes the internal contacts to move, establishing or breaking the power connection to the connected load. Three power circuits are switched together, while the auxiliary contact provides a separate connection for control feedback or interlocking for HVAC systems. The 50A rating specifies the current capacity of the main switching contacts. Mounted inside the electrical compartment, the contactor work with the unit control circuitry to coordinate power delivery during starting, running and shutdown conditions.
