Description
The Sporlan Controls 124266 is a 15-ton thermal expansion valve (TXV) intended for use in large air conditioning systems with R22 refrigerants. By regulating the flow of refrigerant into the evaporator coil, it keeps the cooling performance at its optimal level. The TXV has a bulb with a material inside of it that expands or contracts in response to temperature variations. Usually, this bulb is fastened to the evaporator coil’s outflow pipe. The bulb shrinks when the temperature in the evaporator coil drops, which lowers the pressure on a diaphragm inside the TXV. By doing this, the valve can open wider, letting more refrigerant into the coil. On the other hand, when the temperature rises, the bulb expands, putting more pressure on the diaphragm and limiting the refrigerant’s flow.
