Description
The Sporlan Controls 168358 1.5-Ton Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) is used to regulate the flow of refrigerant in HVAC systems, which controls superheat in order to provide efficient cooling and compressor protection. It is designed to operate with R-404A refrigerant and has 3/8″ x 1/2″ ODF connections with the modulation of the amount of refrigerant entering the evaporator coil depending on temperature. It is installed in the liquid line close to the evaporator, and it is connected to its sensing bulb to react to the load conditions. It helps prevent the coil from getting too full and allows for better heat.
