Description
The Trane SWT3197 low-pressure switch is used to safeguard HVAC systems against damage that may be occasioned by low refrigerant pressures. It works by being opened at 25 °F and closed at 45 °F. When the pressure of the refrigerant is below the opening temperature, the switch opens to shut down the compressor for safety purposes. The switch opens when the pressure goes up and reaches the closing temperature, and the system continues to run. This switch is normally applied in refrigeration systems including those of commercial kitchens and grocery stores to safeguard the compressors from harm by low refrigerant charge or leaks.
