Description
The Trane VAL1478 Gas Expansion Valve is an essential component of HVAC systems, more specifically air conditioners and heat pumps, as it controls the amount of refrigerant that flows into the evaporator coil. This Gas Expansion valve works based on sensing the outlet temperature and pressure of the evaporator and controlling the flow of the refrigerant to attain the superheat. This works because as the refrigerant gas-changes from liquid to gas, it takes up heat from the surrounding air hence cooling it. The advantages include an increase in system efficiency, temperature control, and high dehumidification.
