Description
The Trane VAL8088 Thermal Expansion Valve regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator to maintain proper superheat and balanced cooling performance. With a 5-ton capacity, R410A refrigerant compatibility, 1/2 inch by 5/8 inch connections, and a 1/2 inch capillary tube in HVAC systems, it provides accurate refrigerant metering based on system demand. It works by sensing temperature and pressure at the evaporator outlet and adjusting valve position through a diaphragm mechanism. Located at the evaporator inlet, it interfaces with liquid and suction lines to manage distribution.
