The Trane VAL8702 4-Ton Thermal Expansion Valve 3/8″ x 1/2″ R410A also known as thermal expansion valve are vital components in vaper compression refrigeration and air conditioning. Located in applications such as air conditioners and refrigerators, the TXV works as a metering device that measures the amount of liquid refrigerant that enters into the evaporator coil; it is capable of withstanding up to pressure of 90-PSI. Through detecting the superheat, the TXV controls the refrigerant flow to allow maximum heat to be absorbed by the refrigerant before getting to the compressor.
