The Carrier 348998-75109 Horizontal Drain Pan is designed to collect and direct condensate produced during cooling operation. Positioned beneath the evaporator coil in compatible air conditioning and heat pump equipment, it receives moisture that forms as warm air passes over the cold coil surface. In horizontal HVAC systems, the pan guides collected water toward the designated drain connection, reducing the chance of condensate reaching other internal components.
