The Trane VAL10592 Thermostatic Expansion Valve regulates refrigerant flow into the evaporator to maintain proper superheat and balanced cooling performance. Rated for 4 ton capacity and compatible with R410A refrigerant, it features 5/16 inch ODM inlet and 1/2 inch ODF outlet connections for accurate flow control. It responds to temperature and pressure changes through a sensing element that adjusts valve position to match load conditions. Positioned in the liquid line before the evaporator coil in HVAC systems such as air conditioners and packaged units, it connects inline for controlled distribution.
