The Trane VAL10599 Thermal Expansion Valve Assembly controls the flow of refrigerant into evaporator by adjusting to system demand to ensure that it has adequate superheat to cool effectively. It works by having a sensing element that reacts to changes in temperature and pressure to adjust the valve opening to regulate the flow of refrigerant in HVAC systems like chillers and air conditioning units where a fine flow control is needed.
