The Trane VAL8547 Reversing Valve is an essentialcomponent in Trane heat pump systems that are found in 6-ton capacity units. It is a three way valve that controls the refrigerant flow direction for the system to heat or cool. Having it reversed the valve sends hot refrigerant into the indoor unit for heating during winter while it sends cold refrigerant for cooling in the summer. This technology allows for a single heat pump system to control the climate of your home throughout the year. Thus, the Trane is capable of working in pressures from 650 PSI and the temperature range of -25°C to 120°C, It does not come with a solenoid coil for electrical control but it is an essential component of your Trane heat.
